DESCRIPTION
YEAR
2022
As a senior undergraduate, I took part in the Senior Design Project II course where I was teamed with skilled peers from different cohorts who each carried unique skillsets such as AR Development, Audio Production, Writing, and Design Illustration. Our project involved combining our skills together to create an immersive experience that would prove viable in the entertainment industry.
Our team interviewed a diverse pool of participants to get an understanding for the current status of immersive experiences and how it is perceived among individual communities, researched various creations throughout the history of the entertainment, and studied their appropriate markets in order to determine our best approach. With that information, we began brainstorming ideas and organizing tasks on platforms such as Miro and Trello in order to help us reach an appropriate consensus.
Inspired by the concept of Geocaching, we agreed upon making an audio guided immersive experience that is user friendly to all demographics and helps bridge the technological gap between young and older generations. The audio walk essentially assigns ephemera and detective roles and to two participants at a time, and tells a story according to the user's location as well as progress made through active collaboration.
I contributed to the team effort through various means such as conceptualizing the idea, creating music that set the scene for each segment of the audio walk, assisting with voiceover recordings, editing voiceover narrations, and pitching the product to industry professionals.
