Electronic Music Synthesis

ROLE

Sound Designer

DESCRIPTION

YEAR

2024

In NYU's Electronic Music Synthesis course, I studied fundamental electronic music synthesizer concepts, history, and techniques. This includes the generation of sound, voltage control, electronic music synthesis history, literature, and treatment of sound and tape.

While studying, I was tasked with laboratory goals and compositional projects on vintage synthesizer modules such as the M.O.T.M., Buchla, and ARP 2600.

Throughout this class, I gained a fundamental knowledge of the physical
nature of sound, sound synthesis, prominent figures in electronic music, and electronic music composition, having built experience in topics such as: the voltage controlled oscillator, voltage controlled filter, voltage controlled amplifier, modulation control/audio rate, low-frequency oscillators, envelope gates, mult modules, and so on.
